Practice Course

The Practice Course consists of three components:

a) In-class interactions with experts in this field.

b) Fieldwork, where students conduct research on a specific policy issue. The fieldwork may be carried out at the designated research sites or any other sites chosen by the student.

c) Thesis paper, where students may base the content on their fieldwork or explore a new research topic.

Mentorship Program

We offer a dual-mentorship program in which students are jointly guided by both academic advisors and mentors from the relevant industry. Students will select their mentors through a two-way selection process. Each academic year, the department releases a list of available professors for each specialization. Industry mentors, employed by the department, are professionals in the field of social policy.

Academic advisors will oversee all academic matters, including course selection, fieldwork and students' overall academic progress, while industry mentors will provide support and guidance for fieldwork and offer advice for thesis development.

Thesis Paper Guidelines

Evaluation criteria for final thesis include the relevance of the topic, depth of specialized knowledge, originality of ideas and evidence, clarity of argumentation, and applicability to management. There are no restrictions on the thesis format; it may be presented as a policy research report, data management implementation plan, results report, or fieldwork report.
