This book provides an analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic's emergence and its subsequent development, alongside the critical engagement of frontline social workers in the domain of epidemic prevention and control. In response to the escalating situation, the China Association of Social Work Education has revised and compiled the "Social Work Participation in COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control: Practice Guidelines (Official Edition)" to effectively harness the expertise of social work professionals in the context of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. The text is structured into eight distinct sections: General Work Principles, Work Ethics, The Role of Social Work in Epidemic Prevention and Control, Service Work Guidelines for COVID-19 Patients, Service Work Guidelines for Key Populations, Service Work Guidelines for Vulnerable Populations, Service Work Guidelines for Children, the Elderly, Families, and Communities, and Social Work Supervision.

Ma Fengzhi, the editor-in-chief of this publication, holds the position of professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Sociology at Peking University. At the time of the book's compilation, she served as the Vice President of the China Association of Social Work Education, leading the association's efforts in the area of epidemic prevention and control.
