The Peking University Challenge Cup is the largest and most influential academic research competition on campus, having run for 33 years. It not only encourages and promotes student participation in research but also serves as a platform for students to showcase their talents.

The competition consists of three categories: the Youth Science Challenge, the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Challenge, and Special Contribution Award Challenge. The three challenges are independent of each other, and each project can only be submitted to one category. Each category offers special, first, second and third prizes.

The goal of the Challenge Cup is to inspire students to explore their interests and develop innovative solutions to solve real-world problems, supporting their pursuit of knowledge. The Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Challenge addresses the increasing demand for interdisciplinary learning and research among students while the Special Contribution Award Challenge focuses on topics related to social governance and social services, encouraging students to propose and develop ideas and strategies to tackle these issues.
