2018 Graduation Ceremony

Li Meng, M.A. 1996, taught at the Department of Sociology at Peking University from 1996 to 2001. He is currently a professor of Religion in the Department of Philosophy at Peking University and dean of Yuanpei College at Peking University. Professor Li mentioned in his speech that if he had not have the opportunity to study in the Department of Sociology of Peking University, he would still have strived to become a scholar and pursue an academic career in the field he loves, but he might not have the opportunity to understand that a scholar is first and foremost a teacher —— someone who passes on the academic efforts of generations to students.
