The Sociology department places a strong emphasis on experiential learning. Our core mission is to cultivate a deep understanding of Chinese society and enhancing student's fieldwork abilities as part of our undergraduate education.

The "Field Research" course is a 4-credit compulsory course for our Year 3 students. Students are required to conduct field research and complete a fieldwork report under the guidance of their mentors, with funding provided to support the fieldwork efforts.

Each year, the department selects 10 outstanding research reports through a three-round evaluation process. These reports are showcased at the end of the fall semester, and students will receive the "Outstanding Research Report" award, along with a prize of 3,000 yuan.

Note that this course is not mandatory for foreign students.
