Graduation Requirements
The basic study period for Anthropology Academic Master's Degree is 3 years. Students are required to complete 40 credits for the master's degree, including 19 credits in Compulsory Sociology Courses, 10 credits in Restricted Elective Courses, 11 credits in Unrestricted Elective Courses and a Master's Thesis that carries no credits.

Note:
1. Re-arrangement of Public Courses for International students:
a) International students are required to take the Chinese Language Class. Students who are not exempted are required to take the 2 credits "Foundational Chinese" course (04411002).
b) "Introduction to China" (61410008) is a 2-credit compulsory course for international students, offered in the fall semester. Class 01 is taught in English, and Class 02 is taught in Chinese.

4) Unrestricted Elective Courses: 11 credits
Students may choose to take courses offered by our department or select courses from other departments.
Anthropological fieldwork (non-credit-bearing) occurs in the fall semester of the second year. Students are required to conduct fieldwork for 3 to 6 months under the guidance of their mentor. Upon completion, students are required to submit a fieldwork report, and only those who pass the assessment may proceed to thesis writing.
