The construction of this center aims to inherit and carry forward the excellent traditions of anthropology and folklore at Peking University, coordinate various academic activities related to the teaching and research of anthropology and folklore at Peking University, strengthen information exchange between anthropology and folklore inside and outside the university, continuously improve the teaching and research level of anthropology and folklore at Peking University, and make the popularization of anthropology and folklore knowledge among the public one of its main tasks.

Peking University Social Survey Research Center

Head: Aiyu Liu Founded: 1995.01

Our center focuses on social surveys and social practices, and through the comprehensive use of social research methods, social statistics, social psychology, and related theories and technologies, conducts empirical research and scientific analysis on the focal points and hotspots of contemporary university campuses and society, including questionnaire design surveys, data collection, and organization, in order to discover and explore problems and provide solutions for them.

Peking University Social Theory Research Center

The main construction goal of this center is to coordinate and promote the development of social theory research and teaching activities at Peking University, and strengthen exchanges with social theory scholars at home and abroad.

PKU-HKPU China Social Work Research Center

Head: Fengzhi Ma Founded: 2005.04

Since its establishment, our center has actively responded to important issues related to social change and social policies. Through research, communication, training, and seminars, we have promoted the important role of social work in improving people's well-being, promoting economic and social development, and particularly focused on the capacity building of social work researchers, educators, and practitioners in the context of family change and social development, responding to the concerns of the country and society.

Peking University China Workers and Labor Research Center

Our center conducts sociological research on labor and work issues in contemporary China. Pay special attention to the labor relations and labor rights of digital work in the Internet era.

Peking University Urban and Rural Development Research Center

Peking University National Research Center on Aging and Strategic Response

Our center focuses on actively responding to the national strategy of population aging, fully leveraging the advantages of our disciplines, and consolidating the academic resources and strength of our department, with the aim of providing a basis for scientific research, teaching, and decision-making.

The Center is an academic organization dedicated to the research of network sociology and network public opinion. Its purpose is to give play to the advantages of the Department of Sociology of Peking University in academic research, integrate the resources in the field of Internet research at home and abroad, promote the discipline construction and academic exchanges of Internet sociology, and build a platform for industry, learning, and research cooperation in this field.
